US and Iran exchange fire in Strait of Hormuz, Trump says ceasefire holds

The US military said it struck Iranian targets in self-defence but that it does not seek escalation. Iran said it launched missiles at "enemy" forces in the waterway after a claimed US attack on an oil tanker, and reported shooting down several drones.
