Runner Nedd Brockmann reveals the wild reason why he was banned from Hinge
Nedd Brockmann is just like any other single bloke, dipping his toe into the world of online dating. But during a catch-up with Will and Woody on their KIIS FM show, the ultramarathon runner let slip that he was recently banned from Hinge. The 27-year-old was chatting about his Young Australian of The Year win, and when the hosts cheekily asked if he had included it on his Hinge profile, he let slip about the block. Watch the video above. "I got banned from Hinge," said Brockmann. "Hear me out. Hey, listen, I didn't verify my account on Hinge and someone flagged it saying I was claiming to be me," he explained. Woody jumped in to share the same thing had happened to him. "I was seriously going on Hinge and people thought I wouldn't be so desperate to go on Hinge," he recalled. "So weird. People contacted the radio station being like, 'There's a person masquerading as you,' and then I had to say, 'It's actually me.'""How embarrassing," Brockmann quipped back. "I'm in the same boat. I'm like, how desperate are you Nedd? I might write a petition to Hinge. That is desperate…"I was in Perth and I thought, I can't go to my Instagram to see who's in Perth. I was like, I better just go and Hinge and see if anyone's around. Yeah. Anyway, that's how it was." Woody wasn't keen to let it end there and he's got big plans to get him back on the apps. "I quite seriously want to turn this into a radio arc. Get Brockmann back on Hinge. You know Hinge are up for it," Woody joked. "I'm going to protest and try and get this interview scrapped from the network," Brockmann added. Brockmann, who has become a close pal of the Will and Woody show, is an ultramarathon runner and motivational speaker. In 2026 he was named the Young Australian of the Year. The former electrician captured national attention in 2022, when at just 23 he ran from Perth's Cottesloe Beach to Sydney's Bondi Beach to shine a spotlight on the complexities of homelessness in Australia. In the years since he has raised millions of dollars for charity, making a real commitment to show Aussies how to make a difference.FOLLOW US ON WHATSAPP HERE: Stay across all the latest in celebrity, lifestyle and opinion via our WhatsApp channel.
