Pope to the new nuncio in Iraq: Foster hope and peace
On 26 October in Saint Peter’s Basilica, Pope Leo XIV presided over the Mass with the episcopal ordination of Monsignor Mirosław Stanisław Wachowski, the new papal representative to Iraq. In his homily, the Pope urges him to foster “peaceful coexistence” and to collaborate “constructively” with other religions, in a land “marked by suffering and by the desire for rebirth.”
