PAGCOR and LEDIPO TAYTAY RUSH TO AID FIRE AND FLOOD VICTIMS
Manila, Philippines (July 16, 2025 - In an unwavering show of compassion and solidarity, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), together with the Local Economic Development Promotion Office (LEDIPO) Taytay — under the leadership of Ms. Cristina “Chin” Gonzales — launched an emergency relief mission for families affected by two recent disasters.
Hundreds Receive Immediate Relief in Taytay and Sorsogon
Taytay Fire Tragedy: Over 300 Families Assisted
On April 8, 2023, a massive fire ravaged four barangays in Taytay — Dolores, San Juan, Muzon, and Sta. Ana — leaving a trail of destruction and despair. The Rizal Police Provincial Office confirmed that at least seven residents from Barangay San Juan tragically lost their lives, while more than 60 families lost their homes.
In response, PAGCOR and LEDIPO mobilized swiftly. By May 5, 2023, over 300 families in evacuation centers had received food and non-food relief packs. These provisions offered a vital lifeline to those struggling to recover amid immense loss.
“We are committed to standing with our people — not just in moments of triumph, but especially in times of tragedy,” said Ms. Gonzales. “Every family deserves to know they are not alone.”
Extending Help Beyond Taytay: Aid Sent to Sorsogon
Demonstrating that the spirit of service knows no boundaries, the same team extended relief efforts to the flood-affected second district of Sorsogon. PAGCOR and LEDIPO Taytay donated 500 food packs to families impacted by relentless rains in the province.
This coordinated action underscores a strong message: no community is too far, and no crisis is too great when compassion leads the way.
