'Navigating grief': Spy Kids star Alexa PenaVega reflects on daughter's death two years on
Spy Kids alum Alexa PenaVega has reflected on the loss of her daughter Indy, and her experience navigating grief two years on from her death.The 37-year-old, who shares three other children with her Big Time Rush star husband Carlos PenaVega, took to Instagram to share a moving tribute on the emotional anniversary."Two years ago today we lost our beautiful daughter, Indy," she wrote, alongside a snap of her three children holding a photo of their baby sister."Her little life transformed ours and will always be a gift to us," the post continued."Never in a million years did we ever fathom having to walk through the death of our own child. But here we are today navigating grief... like a little dance."She added that the experience of embracing their faith as a family in the wake of the loss had instilled a "spark of joy" within them, despite this grief."[God] used Indy's life to plant a seed within us. Where's the baby? Your belly's small'," she recalled."Even thinking about it now, my heart hurts thinking of him because he was so looking forward to another baby."Alexa first announced the tragic loss at the start of 2025, revealing that "nobody had been expecting it."Her former Spy Kids co-star Daryl Sabara shared his condolences in the comment section of the post at the time, writing "Love you so so much," in a sweet show of support.Alexa and Carlos met at a Bible study in 2012, shortly after PenaVega's first marriage ended.
