Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser reveals the jokes she had to cut from her hilarious opening monologue
Nikki Glaser was brave enough to take on Hollywood's biggest stars at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, but there are some jokes she was forced to cut.The comedian, 41, has made an annual tradition of revealing the jokes she cut from her annual roast on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM soon after the ceremony, doing so this time on the January 13 episode.Glaser was ready to aim and fire at Brad Pitt for his role in F1, had he attended the event.Watch the video aboveShe would have joked, "When a man turns 60, he gets to play a racecar driver. Meanwhile, after 35, every role for a woman is a tired mom who hates her life.""Brad, you were so good enough when I was almost convinced that you've driven yourself somewhere in the last 30 years. But Brad did a lot of his own driving in the movie, and Brad, I don't want to embarrass you, but your blinker was on the whole time," Glaser continued. She also had a joke for Sydney Sweeney and her role in wrestling biopic Christy. People just aren't going to the theatre to see things," Glaser explained."If you don't believe me, there was a movie this year where Sydney Sweeney played a lesbian who just bounced around in tiny shorts for two hours and it made $14."Glaser also had a number of jokes ready for Sean Penn, who she said she was the most nervous about. During the ceremony, she made a joke about him looking like "a sexy leather handbag," which he seemed to tolerate."Once I got past the Sean Penn joke, I was like, 'OK, I can loosen up'. But before then, I was very nervous," Glaser recalled."I just didn't want to make him upset."She also wanted to add, "Sean Penn is nominated tonight. I'm assuming for best neck veins?" and "Two of the hardest working actors in Hollywood are here tonight: Sean Penn's lower eyelids."Glaser also had a joke about Jonathan Bailey being named People's Sexiest Man of the Year in 2025."Jonathan is the first openly gay man to be named the Sexiest Man Alive by PEOPLE magazine. And at first I was like, do we really need to say 'openly'? And then I looked at a list of past winners, and I was like, 'Oh, yeah, we do.'"Glaser thought she would be "tarred and feathered" for a joke about Julia Roberts that went, "Julia Roberts is nominated for After the Hunt. I don't know what it's about, but I'm assuming the hunt was to find someone who's seen it."For a daily dose of 9honey, subscribe to our newsletter here. The comedian shares that it is a fine line between making light of and offending those in the room, often having to kill her darling jokes."Things do live on in some way, and maybe sometimes a joke is just for the room, and maybe there's been times where jokes have really hurt people's feelings, or I've gone too far," she explained."I feel like I'm always okay with losing stuff now. I wasn't before, it was always really hard to cut those jokes, and now I'm just like – you just don't get everything you want, and you just got to move on, and let's just write a better joke."FOLLOW US ON WHATSAPP HERE: Stay across all the latest in celebrity, lifestyle and opinion via our WhatsApp channel.
