'First time in my 33-year stand-up career': 'Bizarre' moment Hughesy is heckled and forced to stop live show
Dave "Hughesy" Hughes has revealed he was forced to stop a live stand-up show in Queensland after being heckled by an outraged female audience member.The Aussie comedian, 55, shared a video from the moment on Instagram and said he was shocked as it was the "first time 33 years" that someone had tried to "censor his act".Hughes explained he was paying out his son during a funny and lighthearted moment on-stage in Noosa when it rubbed the woman the wrong way.Watch the videos above.He captioned the video: "Bizarre moment an audience member stopped my show in Noosa Saturday night."The radio star and media personality explained he was shocked by what went down."For the first time in my 33-year stand up comedy career, an audience member in the front row attempted to censor my act," he said.READ MORE: Actress facing criminal charges over daring bra stuntREAD MORE: Jennifer Aniston's boyfriend Jim Curtis reveals how the pair metREAD MORE: A-list godparents face a dilemma as Beckham feud rages on"Think it was about 20 minutes in, show was going great, she stood up, yelled 'Stop', then turned to face audience and said that I must not ever make fun of my son on stage."I tried explaining to her that he gives me a hard time too, and we mock each other constantly, and it's all love and I'm proud of him, but she wasn't having it."The comedian said the woman was a carer and she stormed out, with the person being cared for having to leave with her."She ended up leaving. I found out after the show that she was there as a carer for another bloke, so she probably had no idea what my act was," he said."The bloke she was a carer for also had to leave a few mins after she walked out, 'cos she was giving him a lift home."Hughes also offered the man being cared for a refund for his tickets."If I'd known that while on stage, I would have told him to stay and that I would give him a lift home in my hire car," he wrote."I'm happy to give him a refund or free tix to another show if he sees this! #cooked."For a daily dose of 9honey, subscribe to our newsletter here.Some followers praised the comedian for how he handled the situation.It's not the first time Hughes has come across some odd situations.
