Knights of Rizal to Make New Memories in Czech Republic This October

July 20, 2025 – Prague, Czech Republic - The Knights of Rizal in the Czech Republic will host the upcoming European Regional Assembly on October 3–5, 2025, at the DOU Hotel in Prague. The event will welcome high-ranking members and distinguished guests from around the world, reaffirming the organization's commitment to patriotism, civic service, and the values of Dr. José Rizal.

As the oldest Filipino organization in Prague, the Knights of Rizal traces its roots back to a time when only 32 Filipinos resided in the Czech Republic—a number that has since grown to over 12,000.  The Knights of Rizal is the only civic organization in the Philippines established by law, under Republic Act No. 646 (1951), and continues to be recognized as a Filipino heritage and leadership globally.

This October’s assembly marks the second time the Czech Republic will host the Regional Assembly.

The first was in 2006, when the 4th European Regional Assembly (ERA) took place. Prague and Litoměřice rolled out the red carpet, hosting an unforgettable celebration of cultural diplomacy. From a grand welcome at the Glam Palace, the Ministry of Culture’s , to river cruises along the Vltava, and the inauguration of the Rizal Museum in Litoměřice, the event drew 264 guests—the largest Filipino gathering in Czech Republic history at the time, despite only 36 Filipinos living in the country. Remarkably, not a single Filipino resided in Litoměřice then. The celebration was crowned by a special mass led by the Bishop of Litoměřice, who honored the Order with a rare organ performance at the cathedral.

“The Knights of Rizal has been a steadfast organization in the Czech Republic,” shared Sir Noubikko Ulanday, KGOR, Area Commander. “Eighteen years since our formal founding in 2007 is a true litmus test of our dedication.”

As members of the Order from around the globe prepare to gather once again in Prague, the spirit of unity and heritage remains strong. “We may not recreate the grandeur of 2006,” Ulanday added, “but this assembly promises to be just as meaningful—and just as unforgettable.”
