"Within the realm of concepts the whole lot is dependent upon enthusiasm... in the actual world all rests on perseverance."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Many years ago, when my spouse, Priscilla and I first moved to the Czech Republic and I met the previous President, Vaclav Havel, and later advised his foundation, I took a terrific curiosity in his writing and philosophy. Havel was not a fan of enthusiastic individuals as a result of, he stated, their enthusiasm very simply finds a new thing to be captivated with they usually accomplish little. Once I learn Goethe's quote, it not solely jogs my memory of Havel's decided, disciplined strategy, but in addition how typically I've seen very brilliant, gifted, enthusiastic individuals, earn the fame of never truly engaging in anything. Don't get me fallacious, I like to see people who find themselves enthusiastic, particularly leaders, but, on the finish of the day, as Goethe reminds us, the enthusiastic dreamers have to both encompass themselves with disciplined individuals with the perseverance to see things by means of, or they need to personally develop this trait by means of trustworthy reflection. For the enthusiastic among us, to ignore these two things can solely result in disappointment.
Good luck in your journey!
